GAU GROUP OF SCHOOLS 2011-2012
Strategic School Improvement Planning across our learning community is designed to help us improve standards across our family of schools. We aim to develop a collective interest in and responsibility for outcomes for all of our students as our previously separate sections of the school come together over time. Each year, our Operational Improvement Plan identifies priorities for us which will move us further towards our long-term goal of being an outstanding educational institution. We aspire to consistently deliver first class teaching practice, using technology appropriate for the 21st century, in an environment which facilitates high quality learning. We are at a pivotal moment in the development of our learning community and these are exciting times for us all.
Our identified operational priorities for the academic year 2011-2012 are shown below.
To focus on the characteristıcs of high quality teaching, learning and assessment through a framework of staff training, classroom observation and data analysis.
To strengthen our procedures for departmental improvement planning via a focus on expectations with regards to rates of progress and standards of attainment.
To begin our journey towards a single set of policies and procedures for use across our famıly of schools.
To begin, with support from Girne American University, a roll-out of capital investment to further enhance our learning environment.
To develop our use of SIMS and technology generally as tools to support our learners and inform our parents.
As with all plans, we will enjoy varying degrees of success with regard to what we are trying to achieve. We are, however, an increasingly self-evaluative institution with the honesty to recognise and the ability to address areas where we could do better. No school is perfect but we must always aim to be so because our learners deserve the best.
