Personal, Social And Health Education
The PSHE (secondary personal, social and health education) is a newly developed programme connected to the humanities department. All programmes are delivered by our school counsellors once a week to the form class as a whole and are closely monitored and supervised by Assist.Prof. Tülin Bodamyalı.
PSHE plays an important part in equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to develop personally and socially to make positive choices as they grow and move into adult life and contribute to their communities and society.
The framework for PSHE has three sections:
Developing confidence and responsibility and making the most of their abilities
Developing a healthy, safer lifestyle
Developing good relationships and respecting the differences between people
The framework includes themes such as making choices about the future, staying healthy and keeping safe, understanding the consequences of aggressive and antisocial behavior such as bullying and regard for the differences between people.
The programmes of study also include a requirement that pupils learn about human rights and knowledge and understanding about becoming informed citizens. The PSHE framework programmes of study are intended to be used flexibly to meet the specific and diverse needs of students in the school.
